
I was also blessed to have had Mrs. Mock as my first grade teacher.  I've remembered her fondly for years.  My only regret is that I recently discovered that she attended the same church as I and that I didn't take the time to find her and chat with her for a while.  You touched the lives of so many, Godspeed, Mrs. Mock!



As others have indicated in this memorial... I was also blessed with Mrs. Mock as my first grade teacher at Zilker.  What a wonderful lady... I saw her later as a young adult and she remembered me.  Maybe because I was a rotten kid... but I always thought about her.  Gods Speed Mrs. Mock... You will be remembered!



Mrs. Mock was my first grade teacher at Zilker Elementary School in 1960.  She had a gentle and caring personality that always made me feel welcome and wanted.  I remember Mrs. Mock bringing in chicken eggs and setting up an incubator so we could watch them hatch - at least some of them.  We also melted colored candles and let the wax drip down a bottle to make a candle holder for our moms.  Even though she taught us numbers and letters and to read it was the little things she did that we all remember.  Amazingly, as many kids as she taught over the years, she somehow remembered us.  My mom saw Mrs.Mock at the beauty shop a few years ago and she not only remembered me, she remembered my best friend (without being prompted), asked what we were doing and said she could tell we would turn out to be succesful in life because we were both good little boys.  I wish all children could start out their educational journey by having a teacher like Mrs. Mock.  What a blessing!



I remember Mother talking about your brown eyes and how pretty you were. Also hearing about you teaching here in Colorado City at a country school.   I will miss your Christmas cards. Our prayers are with Uncle Roy, for he will truly miss you. Sorry we are unable to make the funeral. Love you forever.

Dear Mr.Mock,  I was one of the many who were blessed to have Mrs. Mock as their first grade teacher at Zilker.  My keenest recollection is of her clear diction.  What a model she provided for us!  I also recall that she managed to look neat and tidy - even when we came off of the playground when the wind was whipping all around us.  Finally, I recall her thoughtfulness.  She visited our home when my sister was born.  Unlike most of the other visitors, she brought a gift for me.  I still remember that shiny black patent leather purse. Mrs. Mock was not my first grade teacher, but taught next to Mrs. Suter's class. She was always such a wonderful teacher and really loved us kids. I am 42 years old now and will never forget the kindness she showed me my first year of school. My condolences to her family. I will never forget her.



My children were taught by her-a great teacher at Zilker. Roy could you have been a co-pilot on a B-29 crew at Tinian. I was a navigator. If I don't know you, I still give you my codolences. I lost my wife of 59+years about 6 years ago. Austin has been my home since 1938. Ernie



I will never forget the kindness Mrs. Mock showed me as a new first grade teacher at Zilker. She was a wonderful teacher and so willing to share her knowledge with me. I still have some of the materials she gave me when she retired. I now read her books to my granddaughter. My condolences to her family.
