Ryan Allan Clem, age 30, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in Austin, Texas. He is predeceased by his mother, Heather Rutherford; and is survived by his father, John Clem; stepmother, Carmina Clem; and sisters, Melissa Clem and Karla Savana. Ryan was born in Austin, Texas, on August 6, 1987. He graduated from Westlake High School in 2005 and shortly after, made the noble decision to join the United States Navy as an Aviation Electrician in 2009. He honorably served for four years under the Helicopter Squadron 46 of Naval Station Mayport in Jacksonville, Florida. Ryan is lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his witty sense of humor, unconditional love for humanity, animals, and most of all, his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. He spent his days looking after those who had less than he had, deeply desiring to share his love of life and God with anyone who was willing to listen. It was often said that Ryan was one of the kindest souls you will ever meet. In fact, he was seen as the most compassionate out of all his family members. Ryan made his mark in this world not with grand gestures, but by the simple goodness and selflessness of who he was; it is without question that he inspired these virtues in others. His interests included cooking, watching the History Channel, riding his motorcycle, going boating, BBQ-ing with friends, spending time with his family, and most of all, terrorizing his little sisters as often as he could. The visitation will be held at Fuller-Sheffield Funeral Home, 2808 E MLK Jr. Blvd, Austin, TX, 78702, from 3-5pm on Sunday, January 7, 2017. Ryan’s family will humbly appreciate all love, prayers and support from extended family and friends of Ryan. Inurnment services will take place on February 9, 2018, 1:45pm, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzback Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
