Sara "Sally" Rosenfeld passed away peacefully from complications of Alzheimer's disease on Nov. 9, 2009. Sally was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. During her final years, Alzheimer's robbed her memory but not her kind heart and strong spirit. Sally was born on December 13, 1931. A quarter of a century later, after a whirlwind courtship, she married the love of her life, Ferdinand Rosenfeld, on June 30, 1956. Ferdy lovingly cared for Sally throughout her 6 year battle with Alzheimer's. Family was the focus of Sally's life. The numerous reunions she painstakingly planned and organized for the Rosenfeld family were always enjoyed by all. Sally was predeceased by her parents, Matthew and Ruth Fox, her "adoptive" parents, Edward and Polly McCarthy, her brother, Matt, and her brother, Fred. Sally is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ferdy Rosenfeld, her two children and their spouses, Thad & Judy Rosenfeld, and Sara & Greg Tucker, her granddaughter Stephanie Rosenfeld, step-granddaughter, Carly Brown, brother, Billy Fox, and sisters, Nancy Fox and Madonna Falduto. The family wishes to thank Kim Butrum, Berle Williamson, Dr. Nandini Kohli, and the staff at Austin North Assisted Living. Services are scheduled for Friday, November 13 at 3 p.m. at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 102 Lorenz Road, San Antonio, TX 78209. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
