Austin where Sarah grew up and went to Austin High School. Sarah went to work in retail stores at an
early age and found she enjoyed the retail business. She met her husband John Turmel while he was
stationed at Bergstrom AFB and happened by the retail shop where she worked as a bookkeeper.
Sarah chose to leave her career to stay home to raise her six children. When her kids were all in school,
Sarah returned to work, enjoying again the retail industry, specializing in customer support. Along the
way, she obtained a certification as an office specialist.
Sarah was a wonderful mother to her six children who meant the world to her. She was a devoted wife
to John, until his death in 1988. She was an avid reader and read Bible stories every night to her
children. Along with her Bible, Sarah enjoyed Christian novels, Amish fiction, and autobiographies for
her personal reading.
Sarah was raised in church and came to know the Lord at an early age. She was a woman of great faith
who never failed to pray for people and share her faith.
She had a lovely singing voice and would sing hymns all the time. Her hobbies, along with reading,
included shopping, gardening and social media.
Sarah loved to travel, especially by air. She also enjoyed driving and spending time with friends and
family.
Sarah was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman.
Of all her accomplishments Sarah will best be remembered for her faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ which she instilled in her children who in turn have passed that faith to their own children, leaving
a legacy of eternal reward.
Sarah has joined those in heaven who preceded her in death, including her husband John, her parents,
