Bernard was preceded in death by his wife of more than 50 years, Mary Helen Robinson.
An Austin resident since 1979, Bernard was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Viola Craft and George F. Robinson. Bernard spent his youthful years in Baltimore, where he met his wife Mary at a local skating rink.
Bernard leaves behind his five children, Kathy Boone-Bush, Bernard W. Robinson, Jr., Peggy Shephard, Carolyn Williams, and Darrell Robinson; nine grandchildren, Latisha Harrison, Jazmine Boone, Emaley Robinson, Darrell Robinson, Jr., Lillian Robinson, Andre Williams, David Gittings, Mary Gittings and Rene Gittings; great grandson Eric Weldon Harrison and great granddaughter Tamara Helen Harrison; Sister, Vondalee Halsey.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home.
