

in 1949 in the city of Clinton, Iowa to Homer and Elverta York. She grew up in Cody, Wyoming but Austin had been her home since 1976. One of her proudest moment was graduating from high school, in which she later on ended up working as a buyer for Motorola for 20 years right here in the city of Austin. She was a woman of great faith, and had actively been involved in St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She truly knew no stranger and was very social. She had loved crocheting, crafts, fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Giving back was one of her truest desires in which, she was recognized as Volunteer of The Year 2013 at Covington Middle School, and the President's Volunteer Service Award 2014, by President Barack Obama.
She was preceded in death by her mother Elverta York, and father Homer York, brother Ray Kerr, sister Sandy Wagner and brother in law, Don Wagner.
She is survived by her husband Albert Martinez, son William Esmonde (daughter in law Patty Esmonde), daughter Theresa Smith (son in law Dale Smith), daughter Shania Martinez, and Grandchildren: Sydni Cass, Nadia Collins, Zachary Collins, Tabitha Smith, Alyssa Rod, and Payton Garza; Great Grandchildren: Kaileanna Camarillo, Alison Cass, Dale Fosler, Dean Fosler, Lincoln Fosler, Lucas Fosler, Alex Collins, and Sophia Collins.
A visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A funeral service will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749. A committal & graveside service will occur Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM, 6300 West William Cannon Drive, Austin, TX 78749.
