On May 24, 1975, God graced Esther and Shellie Crothers Jr. with a bouncing baby boy and only child in Austin, Texas. After attending Austin Independent School District’s Sims Elementary School and Burnet Middle School, Shellie graduated from LBJ High School where he played football, basketball, ran track and participated in gymnastics. Shellie accepted Christ at a very young age at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. George V. Clark. After high school, Shellie attended Capital City Automotive School where he enjoyed tinkering with cars. In addition to working as a certified flagger for a prominent construction company, Shellie was also employed with G&F Discount Printing for over 20 years, US Farathane, Modular Installation Services (MIS), and the Salt and Time Restaurant. One of his passions was playing dominoes with two of his favorite uncles, Uncle Gene and Uncle Pang. Shellie could also get in the kitchen and whip up one of his favorite meals anytime of the day, a batch of pancakes with bacon and eggs, in a heartbeat. He had a great love for his family because he had a great, big heart. Shellie would do anything he could to help anyone. He loved having fun and he loved life. He was in turn truly loved and will be very greatly missed. Shellie is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Shellie and Savannah Crothers Sr.; maternal grandmother, Vera Wilson; maternal grandfather, A.C. Freeman; and beloved family pet, a Catahoula Leopard Dog, Colorz of fourteen and a half years.
