

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm, July 25, 2025, at Weed Corley Fish Funeral Home 2620 South Congress Avenue in Austin, Texas with visitation just before her funeral at 1:00pm. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
Shirley was born on June 23, 1935, in Bay City, Texas. Shirley married John Edward England Sr. on December 29, 1956, and they were married for 51 years. Shirley spent thirty years raising their four very busy children who were involved in a wide variety of activities. She worked as a typist for Woods Typing Service and in the church office for Faith Lutheran Church in Austin. She also spent many years working for and retired from the Internal Revenue Service. She loved music and spent most of her life singing in the church choir. She sang in choirs at Faith Lutheran Church and Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Austin. When she and John moved from Austin to Dripping Springs, she sang in the choir at New Life Lutheran Church in Dripping Springs where she and John were founding members. She also joined the Wimberley Chorus and participated in multiple concerts each year. In retirement, she spent weekdays at Hill Country Senior Center in Dripping Springs eating lunch and visiting with friends. She also spent time there volunteering, playing Bingo and being part of the crochet group. She enjoyed donating her crochet top kitchen towels to the Thrift Store to help raise money for the Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny, her parents, Ragen and Alma “Mickey” Green, her brothers, Donnie and David Green and her son-in-law, Drew Paz.
She is survived by son, John Edward England, Jr. (Eddie) and wife Melanie of Anna, Texas. Daughter, Joyce Marshall and husband Robert of Cedar Park, Texas. Daughter, Sheri Rhoades and husband Rick of Cameron, Texas. Daughter Christina Paz of Austin, Texas. Grandchildren include Brian England and wife Julia, Jack Rhoades and wife Erin, Jenae Byrd and husband Braden, Heather Russon and husband Nick, Elizabeth McGuigan and husband Brendan, Jayci Ehler and husband Preston, Matthew Seekatz and wife Marisa and Julie Cavanaugh and husband Cameron. Great Grandchildren include Dakota England, Colbie and Ricky Rhoades, Annabeth and Baylor Byrd, Brooks McGuigan, Hattie and Riley Ehler, John and Elijah Seekatz, Baby Rhoades and Baby Cavanaugh due in December.
She is also survived by a very special extended family. Sister-in-law, Mary Ann Green, referred to as the sister she always wanted. Nieces Melissa Tharp, Kelly Pierce and Chloe Donaldson, nephews Ragen Green and Josh Green and many great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the Hill Country Senior Center in Dripping Springs for the MANY years of fellowship, fun and support given to our mom. We would also like to thank the staff and caregivers at The Waterford at Round Rock for their dedication and care for our mom in the last five months of her life. They treated her like family, and we will forever be grateful for their care.
