Sonya was one of my dearest friends in high school. We got through a lot of tough times together, and a lot of great times too. I only wish I had made more of an attempt to contact her over the years.



My sincerest condolences to Sonya's family and friends. I am currently in Iraq and didn't find out until today about her passing. She was my only true friend in high school and have many fond memories of her. Wish I would have kept in touch better. Sorry and my deepest condolences.  Vince



I'm sadden that God's calling found you young. I remember you when you were merely a child who wanted a horse. So your mother and I purchased you one which you named Honey. The hours you enjoyed riding your beautiful red roan Appaloosa mare along the trails behind Bergstrom air force base. Although, you started riding in Gilroy, California before I brought you and your mother to Texas. Long has since past and in time all things remain and yet all things change.    You were always great in school and always a wonderful person who never was a problem child. Gifted with humor. Always one to be trusted with your strong faith in worship with God. Now you have gone to join him with internal peace. A part of my life now gone only to be missed. May I leave you with this lovely poem.    As from the house your mother sees  You playing round the garden trees,  So you may see, if you will look  Through the windows of this book,  Another child, far, far away,  And in another garden, play. Tabitha, I know you and your family went through some valleys, but your mom picked herself up and brushed the dust off of her and showed you great leadership qualities.  She was a nice lady and was always friendly to me.  Remember all the good things she taught you and grow from them. May God Bless you and your family.

I am at a loss for words. We got to have some good catching up the last year before I moved. Life throws many changes, so many of them unexpected, we've got to be ready. Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Sonya you were my friend, confidant, financial consultant, companion and     love.    Sonya you taught me a lot about myself. You echoed my drive for success.     We both share the dream of living in a lakehouse; but not until the hard     work yielded sucesss and respect from our peers and community.    You know me well--that's what you always told me.    Remebmer the first night we went out? You smiled when I stood up. I sighed     when you asked me the really, really tough questions while we were     chatting on the balcony until 2AM. What was the name of that play? First     Dates. Yeah. That was it. Funny.    I laugh everytime I think of what you asked me, "...so what kind of car do     you drive?"    I tested you: "...you know I don't date short men..."    You tested me: "...what did you do? ...what was your fault?"    The scene of the crime has really never been the same. Time for a change     of venue, I think. Super good memories--I will always cherish. I promise     to have a cosmo and a creme bruele and sprinkle some for you. I really do     make good cosmo's, I'm just out of practice. Right!?    You'll be happy to know that I still call a cab when I go. I ran across     that nice little yellow note this weekend. One word: S-C-A-R-Y.    When I called you or sent you a text messasge, 'whatcha cha cha doing?'     You loved to dance and salsa was your passion that you could never get     enough of. I know your Happy Feet are still dancing everyday in the     clouds.     I don't think Jack and kate really ever connected. Did you hear what     happened to Charlie? I know you love James Ford; but, he's kind of a dick     too. I mean really!? "Pilsbury" "Hop Sing" Seriously, Sawyer! Ha! I just     finished watching Season One not too long ago. I missed most of Season     Three and just started watching it.      We shared a fiery temperment, didn't we? Woah! Fire and gasoline we are.     Don't fuel the fire. Yikes!    Speaking of fiery, Thank you for finding the button for the seat warmers.     Brrr.    Remember the trip to Houston to see John's band play? That was a fun trip.     Especially the ride home.      Sonya, thank you for your vision. I saw you in your blue Pontiac. You     looked great and your glance was classic. I will remember you as you want     me to: Sonya looking fine, fantastic and confident.    I know what you were telling me: I heard you and understood the glance.    Sonya, I will be strong. I will always find fire in my belly. I will     pursue my dreams as you always supported me -- I will make you smile and     proud.      Good bye Miss Sonya. I will miss you.  Cha cha cha!

I will always remember Sonya as a woman of great strength, courage  and determination to reach her goals.      What a great legacy to leave her daughter...  What a geat sense of pride to leave her parents...  What a great example to leave us all.    Thank you Sonya for your beautiful  light that you left for us to follow.       My deepest sympathies to all who share her loss.
