Susan was one of the most loving, dedicated and loyal friends that anyone could know.  Her smile always brightened a room. Her kind and positive words always lifted any low spirits. Her willingness to go the extra mile with whatever task was always noted. Her devotion to her family and friends was inspiring. She was petite; but, she left a huge footprint. How fortunate we all were to have known her. She will forever live in our hearts!  Rest in peace my dear friend and sister!

I can truthfully say that Susan was always one of my favorite people at the agency and a person that was always enjoyable to work with. All of these wonderful posts are so true about Susan and I don't think I can say anything different except to add myself to her long list of fans, friends and admirers. Susan was a joy to be around. The times we spoke, she was nothing short of professional and kind...so very genuine. Her work ethic was amazing and my sincerest prayers go out to her grieving family. May God hold you all close during this very sad time. 

I got to know Susan through our son's. One of my fondest memories is when we went to the renaissance festival.  We had a wonderful time and I will always cherish those Austin holidays we had together.  She was truly a wonderful woman and I was lucky to have known such an extraordinary person. 

I wouldn't be where I am today if Susan hadn't taken a chance on me and taken me under her wing at the TBCJ. Her alacrity was a wondrous model for me. She was my mentor. She was my friend. She was gentle and gently firm with me when she needed to be! A talented artist, a patient teacher, a gifted organizer, planner, coordinator, you name it. Susan was the best go-to gal and I will forever miss her sunny spirit. Thank you, Susan, for your loving kindness.

Susan's smile says it all.She brightened all our lives with her support,friendship and professionalism. Her contact  and caring  continued  from work to the last 18 years of my retirement. Her courage,thoughtfulness and caring will always be cherished by her loving family and friends. 


 

Words cannot express the sadness I feel  at the news of Susan’s passing. She was always a bright and smiling soul who made me feel blessed to be a part of her life. She was not only a superb executive assistant, but also supportive of me as a division director. My prayers for her family and friends. Our loss will be heaven’s gain.

I corresponded with Ms. McHenry on more than several occasions.  She was so sweet, helpful and most of all always professional.  
Very sad she left this world, but Heaven sure has gained a wonderful Angel.

Susan was a remarkable woman who possessed extraordinary talents. She could manage multiple complex projects at the same time, always with her beautiful smile and wonderful attitude. During my nine years on the Board of TDCJ, I don’t remember her ever being unkind or overcome with the stress of her position as the Executive Assistant to the Board Chair which had to be one of the most difficult positions on the planet. She truly was a very special person. Her passing is a tremendous loss to her family but also to all of us. We will miss her greatly. 

As I continue to pray for her family whom she loved so deeply, I’m comforted to know that we’ll see her again in heaven.
