Terence was born in 1974 and grew up in Ridgefield, Connecticut, where he attended New Canaan Country Day School and Greens Farms Academy, graduating from Dartmouth College in 1998. He spent many years working in the wine industry, living in Atlanta, Seattle, and Austin. Terence spent two years teaching English as a Second Language in South Korea, where his students adored him.
His easy laugh was infectious, and he was known for his inspired sartorial choices from bow ties to cowboy boots. A voracious reader with a peerless memory, his encyclopedic knowledge of the classics, Japanese and Russian history, politics, fine wine and the New York Yankees made him a formidable debater. Terence reveled in knowledge, in digging deeply into all subjects that caught his interest, and in traveling the world. He spoke several languages, some self-taught. He was an avid naturalist and hiker, in the hill country around Austin and throughout the U.S.
Terence is survived by his sisters Rebecca, Diane and Melissa, and his brothers Stephen, Joshua and Oscar, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Judith and Mark Pincus of Ridgefield, Connecticut and his birth father, Glenn O’Brien of New York City.
A burial at Hillside Cemetery in Wilton, Connecticut will be private.
