

Teresa Drogolewicz passed away on Saturday, March 21 in Austin, Texas at the age of 82. She was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua on March 31, 1943, and lived in El Paso, Texas from a young girl in 1950’s to the mid 1990’s. She moved to Austin to be closer her children.
She is survived by her son, Paul Drogolewicz (Abimael Rodriquez), daughter Dania Grundmann and grandchildren Henry Grundmann and Annalyn Grundmann. Also survived by her nieces Rebecca Garner-Lozoya, Norma Garner, Elizabeth Stewart and grandnieces and grandnephews Allan Garner (Lorelei), Jackie Lozoya, Dylan Garner, Symariah Garner Valles, Robert Stewart, Kaitlyn Stewart, and Bryan Stewart and great-grandniece Anastasia Garner.
She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Juanita Hernandez, her only sibling Gudalupe Garner (Norman Garner) and aunt Pilar Flores (Leopoldo Flores). She is also preceded in death by the family established by her mother in Chihuahua that helped raise and nurture her, Angela Rivas Tinajero (Mamá), Ana Maria Martinez Lizaula (Hada Madrina Anita), and Lidia Angela Tinajero Cobos (Madrina Angelita).
Teresa “worked to live” and did not “live to work.” She lived life to the fullest and measured success by relationships and the people she met along the way. She enjoyed talking, singing, traveling, tending her roses, eating, napping, occasionally cooking, babies, and providing her opinion (solicited and unsolicited).
Teresa loved all her family. Her cousins Julia De La Garza, Elena Sanchez (d), Guillermina Raygoza, Rosa Torres, Jesus Flores, Sylvia Flores and their families. The Chihuahua family including Ana Lidia Gutierrez, Miriam Alderete, Carolina Alderete, Liliana Alderete Montoya, Maria de Jesus Guitierrez Akosima (d), Lourdes Cobos Espino, Angela Cobos Cerdeira (d) and their families. Teresa was delighted at the announcement of great grandbaby Montoya.
Teresa appreciated her friends and neighbors. Chaya Ramirez, Emma Reveles (Comadre), Isela Marquez (Comadre), Susana Morales, Chaya Hinojosa (d), Emma Del Valle, Lupe Del Hierro, Maribel Baza-Penry, Alicia Van Zandt, Lorenza McNeel, Moises and Mayra Ramirez, Cheryl Featherstone (Fairy Goddaughter), Kay and Tony (d) Reda, Linda and David Davis, Hannah and Anthony Reimer and the Galloways. Teresa, Paul and Dania are especially grateful to her second family: Melinda, Domenic, Samantha, and Ritchie Sheira.
Friends of Dania and Paul were also friends of Teresa and she enjoyed their camaraderie. Jenny Ariaga, the Rodriquez Family (Felix, Flor, Jose and Margarita), Marie Zolnowski, Dennisse Casey, Jay Everett, Eddie Schellhous, Barbara Mercer, Jarrod Snell, Charlie Farris, Christiaan Shahandeh, Johnny Stewart, Brian Underwood, Diana Castillo, Mario Garcia, and Leslie Garza.
Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories at a rosary and memorial service on May 14th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 5416 Parkcrest Drive, Austin Texas 78731. Memorial luncheon at Teresa’s home on Oak Run Drive in North Austin after the memorial service on May 14th. Please join as we continue to celebrate her life and legacy.
