

Theodore William Kapp, affectionately known as "Ted," passed away on August 17, 2023, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family at his home in Austin, Texas. Born on September 28, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Ted led a remarkable life filled with love, service, and dedication.
Ted is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Kay Kapp (nee Hawk), his daughters Tracy Palermino-Handlon (Matthew) and Melinda Owens (Chad), and Michelle Kapp (Gary Hyland), his brothers Louis Kapp and John Kapp. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride for him.
A man of great integrity and honor, Ted received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. For twenty-two years, he served his country with unwavering dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the Army, Marine Corps, and Air Force in both active duty and Reserves.
Ted found great success in the real estate industry, working for Waffle House for over 25 years while continuing to serve in the Military Reserves. Known for his tireless work ethic and dedicated commitment, he was a respected figure in his field.
Ted's faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found solace and community at Austin Baptist Church. He cherished the time he spent golfing with his church friends and treasured every moment with his family, who brought him immense happiness.
In recognition of his military service, honors for Ted will be held at the Central Texas Veteran Cemetery in Killeen, TX, on November 17th, where his contributions to his country will be celebrated and remembered.
Ted Kapp's passing leaves a void in the lives of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of service, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and guide those who follow in his footsteps.

Frances Kay Kapp (nee Hawk), known by her family and friends as "Kay," passed away peacefully on September 6, 2023, at the age of 79, surrounded by her daughters in Austin, Texas. Born on July 2, 1944, in Morehead City, North Carolina to John and Freida Hawk. Kay led an extraordinary life filled with love, caregiving and devotion. She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother.
Kay was predeceased by her loving husband Ted of 55 years. She is survived by her adoring daughters, Melinda Owens (Chad), and Michelle Kapp (Gary Hyland) and Tracy Palermino-Handlon (Matthew) and her sister Linda Hawk. She also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Jacob and Kaelyn Owens, who she treasured and brought her tremendous happiness.
Kay received her Nursing degree from the University of Evansville fulling her childhood dream. She had a rewarding career as a RN with a focus in assisted living and long-term care. Kay truly had the gift of serving others as she balanced working fulltime with unwavering dedication to her family, who were her source of pride and joy.
Kay's faith was the foundation of her life. As a member of Austin Baptist Church, she found solace and community. Additionally, she cherished her involvement with Community Bible Study and deeply treasured those relationships.
Kay Kapp's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of healing, compassion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and guide those who lives she touched. While her family grieves her loss, they take comfort knowing that Ted and Kay are together again.
