

Theresa Forrest Brawley passed away December 20, 2025 at the age of 91. Theresa was born on November 27, 1934 in Ames Iowa to Mary Louise and Edwin Forrest. Theresa and her parents moved to Borger, Texas when she was ten years old. Theresa graduated from Borger High School in 1952.
Theresa married Aubrey Gene Brawley on July 6, 1955 in Borger, Texas. They were married 68 years and had three children; Richard Dean Brawley, Carole Jean Strange, and Linda Gail Brawley. She later worked as a data processor for the IRS where she made many life-long friends.
After she retired, Theresa volunteered at St. Ignatius Church and St. John Neumann church. She enjoyed helping early voters in Travis County and the City of Rollingwood. She also loved to sew and needlepoint and many close friends have framed needlepoint pictures created by Theresa. Writing handwritten notes was a favorite pastime and she sent her two granddaughters letters throughout their lives. She never missed sending a friend or relative a birthday card.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gene, and infant son Richard. Theresa is survived by her daughters Carole (Rick) Strange and Linda Brawley. Granddaughters Katie (David) Jones, Susan (Andrew) Green and 5 great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held January 3, 2026 at 11pm. at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery 2800 Hancock Dr., Austin, TX 78731
