

Memorial services for Thomas Earl Parr, 55, of Blackwell, Texas will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the Unitarian Universal Church, 405 E. 42nd Street in Odessa, Texas. He passed away on Saturday June 10th at St. Davids Hospital in Austin, Texas. "Tommy" was born on August 15, 1950 to Vernard and Nell Parr in Odessa, Texas and attended Odessa schools, graduating from Odessa Permian High in 1968. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blackwell, Texas. He worked in the oilfield pipe and equipment business as president and owner of Latigo Pipe & Equipment, Inc., as well as patent owner of TexJet Pump System, and a partner in Wild West Drilling. His favorite pastimes included bass fishing, golf, flounder gigging, listening to Stevie Ray Vaughn and being with family and friends at his lake home. Tommy is preceded in death by his mother, Nell, in 1989 and his father, "V. W." in 1998. Survivors include his wife, Sharilyn of Blackwell, Texas, a son, Thomas Auston Parr of Blackwell, Texas, a son, Robert Lee Whitlow of Austin, Texas, a brother, Wynn Parr of Granbury, Texas, a sister, Rita Pannell of Lubbock, Texas, and a sister, Connie Goodman of Odessa, Texas. Also, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many special friends and business associates who will miss him. Honorary pall bearers are David Barnes, Frank Barreras, Dewey Goodman, Tom Harries, Les Hayter, James Langston, Dennis Perkins, Eli Turner, and Rod Turner.
