Timothy Jester Oveland died peacefully Saturday after complications following emergent cardiac surgery. His larger than life presence and exuberant enthusiasm for life has left a void in the world that is deeply felt by all who knew and loved him. Timothy was born October 02, 1951 in San Diego, California and was the youngest of his siblings. He was a successful business man in San Diego where he met his wife, Sonya Kovzelove. They became engaged and moved to Austin, Texas where they married on September 11, 1999 and could be close to Tim's parents and family that he loved so dearly. While in Texas, he became an entrepreneur of Antiques, built a nightclub in his home ("Club-O") where friends and family could be entertained by his band ("The Horsin' Around Band"), and many other talented musicians/friends such as himself. Timothy "Bass is Loaded", was an accomplished bass guitar player with a unique stage presence. Tim's uncle Buford Jester was Governor of Texas in 1949 and Tim was quite proud of his family's political history. His many loves of auto racing, horse racing, music, hunting with beloved labrador "Pete" and sportfishing and boating made him a fun and colorful man. Tim is survived by mother Elizabeth Jester Higgins, wife Sonya Eilene Oveland, brother John Higgins, and son Randy Han; all of Austin; brother Greg Oveland, sister Debbie Oveland, nephew Christopher Oveland, and niece, Elizabeth Oveland, and brother Charlie Higgins, and sister Amelia Phillips all of San Antonio; brother Jeff Oveland, sister Nancy Oveland of Dallas; brothers Bryan Kovzelove and Ken Kovzelove, sisters Gina Olivarria and Tina Borgner, nephew Sonny Borgner, and neice Sabrina Olivarria, and grand niece Riley Borgner all of San Diego. If you met Tim and knew him for only five minutes you had made a friend, and the many are not forgotten and are appreciated by his family. Serving as Honarary Pallbearers are Jeff Oveland, Greg Oveland, John Higgins, Charlie Higgins, Randy Han, Bryan Kovzelove, James McInzie and Joseph Corona. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home. Services to be held at noon on Friday, Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel with a tribute/reception at Tim and Sonya's home, Club-O, following the service.
