
When we were very young, Tim and I were neighbors on Malcolm Drive in San Diego. All of the kids on that street had such fun together, playing until after dark, and not wanting to come in when our mothers called. It was a good, safe, carefree time. Since that time I have often thought of Tim and his family. Elizabeth, Jeff and Greg, I wish you well, and send you and the entire family my heart-felt condolences.



We have been friends with Tim for many years. We alwaly had so much fun! He sure lived his life to the fullest and we will miss him. He was always full of facts and the best way to do things. He will be forever in our thoughts and prayers.



Scott and I will never forget the great times that we had with Tim. We loved coming out to the house to sing karaoke, barbecue, and to visit.  Tim and Sonya always made us feel at home.  You always knew that you were going to have a great time with them.  Tim was always in a GREAT mood and you could feel his love for music. He will be missed. Love and prayers to Sonya and family.



Dear Ones,  It is hard to know just what to say   at such times.  But do know that you are in our hearts and prayers. When you think about life, you realize how quickly it passes us by. At first, we were young couples experiencing what Southern California had to offer - sunny beaches, great food,and even greater friends.  Before you knew it, there were children to raise, careers to focus on, and the rents/mortgages to pay.  In our twilight years, there were supposed to be vacations to take, grandchildren to spoil, and hobbies/sports to engage in.  Tim we feel the pain of your passing and yearn for the wonderful memories that will never be.  We intend to take you with us on that final vacation together (Mexican Riviera). Tim is a great friend, warm, fun-loving and caring.  We will all miss him. Unfortunately I had lost touch with Tim recently.  I send my heartfelt prayers to Sonya, Tim's mom, and the rest of the family.  Hopefully, we can all find peace knowing that Tim is in a better place. Dear Little Brother Timmy:     You have been special to me since that day in October 1951 when Mom brought you home from Mercy Hospital in San Diego. You were the most beautiful baby, and I fell in love with you instantly. My feelings of love for you have only grown over the past 55 years.     During the early years I was your mentor and big brother. Some where along our journey of life, you became the leader and teacher. When Pop became ill, you stepped up to the plate and took charge of Mom & Pop. After Pop passed, you quietly became the primary care giver for our Mom. Thank You!     Thank you for bringing Sonya into our Family. Your long wait for your perfect "soul mate" was rewarded. Sonya and your Friends have been so supportive during our time of need. It is very satisfying to know that so many other people loved you too.     Your Brother Greg and I, are working together to fulfill your wishes. Mom will be cared for, Sonya will always be part of our Family, and our Little Brother Timmy will never be forgotten. We will honor you by doing good things in your Name. Tim's passing brought to mind the  title of Rabbi Kushner's well known book, When Bad Things Happen to Good People.  It is truly a sad time for all of us especially his wonderful, loving family.  I met Tim in Kingsville when he was about 15 and knew him as Jeff and Greg's little brother.  But I "took a liken" to him because he was sharp, a quick wit and we both enjoyed working on cars and hot rods.  All these many years later our contacts were rare but we always knew what Tim was doing because of Jeff.  It was pleasing to hear about his being in Austin near his mom again and about his exciting life with Sonya.  Tim was one of the good guys and God has a special place for him.    Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers.



Tim was the most festive soul I have ever met.I was extremely fortunate to have been his adopted hook brother and friend of the last four years.I am angry,sad and heart broken to have lost one of my only true friends/brothers... Peace go with you brother...Love Davidjohn:(



Dear Sonya and family,    Although I had not met Tim, I was assisting with the arrangements for their "honeymoon" and "birthday" cruise this fall.  Tim was always very courteous and polite, and I imagined him to be of good character.  After speaking to Joe Corona about him, who considered Tim to be his best friend, I felt Tim was a good man.  After speaking to his wife, Sonya, today, I am sure of it.  She, too, is of strong character that she will need in the coming days.  My heart hurts for all that knew him, and my prayers are with you all.  I understand the pain and incredible sorrow that you must endure now, and for the days to come. Josie and I are shocked by the passing of our "Little Cousin Timmy."  "Big Cousin Jeff," we thank you for your urging me, Tom, to break my silence, and call your wonderful mother, our Aunt Elizabeth, some months ago.  It gave me the opportunity just to catch up with both her, and Timmy, at length.  And, as we see by Timmy's passing, those opportunities don't last forever.  On the other hand, it was far too early to have Timmy taken from us.  He was, indeed, a rare character, a lover of life lived at the marrow.  His conversation was rich, unvarnished--and above all, full of inimitable humor--while talking about his nutty used car customers (or us, his nutty family!)--or, any of the many amazing things he would have going at any one time.  It was just hard to visit him, and not come away with a belly laugh that put life into perspective.  He was a hoot--but so very much a loved one--one that Josie and I will surely and sorely miss.  Our love, and deepest condolences, to you, Aunt Elizabeth; to you, Jeff & Nancy; to you,Greg, Debs & family--and, finally, to you, Sonya--who we pray we'll get to meet someday.  How very lucky we are to have all of you in our lives.  We love you all very much.



Dear Mrs. Elizabeth Higgins, Jeff, Greg and Sonja,  I'm very sadden this morning, losing my childhood buddy, Tim. We grew up together on Teton Drive and established a friendship that endured a lifetime. Tim and I stayed in touch while in San Diego and most recently saw each other at Collin's celebration of life. We had good times throughout life and I always thought of him frequently. He was large in life and exuberent in all he did. He loved his mom so much, admired and cherished his brothers. Tim remained a good friend yet so far away in Texas. Tim you had a good ride in life but far too short. I'll miss you and your infectious laughter, your love of life, and your devotion to family. You were my first friend on Teton Dr., we spent precious childhood time together that will be forever in my heart. We spent many summers together at Collin's place at the beach, surfing everyday and living the good life. I'll miss you buddy.  Love you like a brother, Wayne Woods

Jeff, Greg, Mrs. Higgins and Family    I had only met Tim on a few occasions back in the sixties, so I did not know him well at all. But thru Jeff, I kept up with his life somewhat through the years and knew that Tim was deeply loved by his  family and friends. He will certainly be missed but not forgotten by many.... I'm sure. Im very sorry that I will not be able to attend the memorial service, but my thoughts and prayers have been and will definitely remain to be with ya'll during this very difficult time. Dearest Sonya and family,    It was only one short year ago that our family moved up to this area on a wing and a prayer, wanting to begin new lives for ourselves.  We are so greatful that the Lord above guided us to Tim & Sonya as they both greeted us with open arms and took us into their lives without a second thought, for this we are forever greatful. Kyle and Collin have taken quite a shine to Auntie Sonya and Uncle Timmy and always count the days until their next visit. My sweet Daddy Bear...We were the "Senator and the Baroness".  We were; as you said the "Texas Modern Day JFK and Jackie".  We were the "Cowboy and Indian".  We are and always will be the ultimate "Love Story".  Nothing can ever replace you in my heart and soul.  I'm so selfish and I want more kisses, hugs, laughs and yes, even the times that we held each other and cried. I was so privilidged and honored to be your wife and to call you my husband.  The greatest day of my life was when I met you, and the worst day of my life was the night you whispered your last breath in my ear as I kissed you goodnight.  You always told me I could do anything, I hope you were right.  The rest of my life will have to be testimony to that.  But if you believed in me that much, I will to.  There is no thing created by God that can heal this broken heart, except for the love I know God has for me, and the joy of knowing that you and I will be together again someday. Dear Sonja, Mrs.Higgins and Family,    Please except mine and Nancy's sincere sympathy and condolences on your  tremendous loss.    Tim was a dear boyhood friend of mine.  We shared many days together as boys in Junior High School, High School and College in Kingsville and Austin before Tim moved back to California.    I felt fortunate to be re-united with him when my wife Nancy and I attended Tim and Sonja's wedding.  Even though I hadn't seen him in two decades, we re-connected immediately.  Tim always enjoyed laughing, a good joke  and a good time; especially when entertaining his friends.  He was perpetually happy, but was happiest with Sonja whom he loved dearly and deeply as she does Tim.  I spent several enjoyable and memorable afternoons and evenings at Club O with Tim and Sonja and will forever recall Tim's giant cigar-punctuated grin, back-slapping sense of humor and hospitality.      Get the Big Club ready for the rest of us, Tim.
