Toni Martinez Ortegon

Toni, 92, born in Melvin, Texas, a 57-year resident of Austin, joined the Lord on Wednesday May 25th, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She is survived by Darien Ortegón (husband Alan Coffman), Ariel Ortegón (husband Garth Olivier) and grandson Ray Olivier, and Omega Ortegón (husband Lee Rogers) and grandsons Yves Rogers and Adrian Rogers. Her two siblings, Mita Martinez and Jose Martinez also remain.

Toni was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arnold Ortegon.

Her passions were active participation in the faith community (St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church), dancing, fashion, and her family. She worked as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, for 45 years, primarily in eldercare. She and her husband, Arnold traveled to Israel, Italy, France, Argentina, Brazil, Canada and many cities in Mexico and the US. They were avid dancers: meeting up with local friends weekly to dance and exploring dancing venues in the countries they visited.

The family wishes to thank the following special caregivers to Toni during her remaining months: Lupe Aleman, Marla Anderson, and the staffs of Buckner Villas and Hospice Austin.
