

Our Beloved Tony Almanza was born in Austin, Texas in 1966 and departed this earth unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2024. In Tony’s early years, he grew up in East Austin with his siblings He enjoyed playing the saxophone in the band, and attending boxing classes at Martin Jr. High. Tony pursued mechanics and was truly the “Jack of all Trades.” Tony took on a career with his special craftsmen skills in mechanics, and enjoyed his social life of dancing and hanging out with his friends & family while rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Tony will be missed tremendously and will always be remembered for his contagious smile and the way that he always radiated positivity through life’s toughest trials.
He was greeted in Heaven by his father, Andrew Almanza; grandparents, Prajedes & Concepion Alvarez; sister, Irma Moreno; uncle & aunt, Pedro & Nelly Alvarez, and JR Sanchez.
Tony is survived by his mother, Consuelo Guerra; siblings, Terry Alvarez, Sandra Alvarez, Michael Alvarez and wife, Lori, Frank Alvarez and fiancée, Linda Castro; his stepchildren, whom he loved dearly, Cynthia Jimenez, Sandra Alvarado, Frank Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving with grace and honor as pallbearers, Frank Alvarez, Xavier Moreno, Jacob Moreno, Joseph Rodriguez, Frank Rodriguez, Frankie Alvarez, and Albert Ledesma.
A visitation for Tony will be held Monday, September 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A funeral service will occur Monday, September 16, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 2620 South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704. A committal service will occur Monday, September 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S I-35 Frontage Rd, Austin, TX 78704.
