Tony Woods

Tony Maurice Woods, Jr. was born on November 21, 1984 in Round Rock, TX to Andrea Burton and Tony Woods, Sr. He passed away on July 19, 2009. Tony accepted Christ at an early age at the Loyalty Baptist Church in Austin. Tony attended school in the Dallas Independent School District where he graduated from Dallas Sky Line High School in 2004. Tony Woods or "Chug" as most of his family and friends called him was known for his gentle attitude and demeanor; he also had a natural ability to play sports. Tony was preceded in death by his father, Tony Woods; great grandmothers, Justine Upjohn and Thelma Woods; grandfather, Rev. Robert E. Burton Sr.; and great-grandfather, Rev. Tommie L. Garner, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Andrea Johnson; grandmothers, Zelma Neal of Austin, TX and Anna Harris of Columbus, OH; grandfather, Maurice Woods (Betty) of Austin; Big Mama Alberta Garner; stepfather, Rev. Henry Lee Taylor; step grandfather, Charles Neal; sisters, Traci Woods and Roneshia Williams of Dallas; brothers, Frank Robinson, Jr. and Rodney Williams, Jr. of Dallas; aunt, Angela Moturi of Columbus, OH; uncles, Rev. Tommie L. Garner, Jr. (Diane) of Elgin, Terrence Woods (Denise), Mike Kelley, Robert Burton (Regina) all of Austin, and Gordon Woods (Ora) of Round Rock; special cousin and adopted mom, Connie Brooks; cousins, Tamika Vaughn and James Brooks, III of Round Rock; special great-aunt, Bernice Woods Gooden of Round Rock; special friend, Jessica Ann Bunch of San Antonio; and a host of other family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24th at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. in the Weed-Corley-Fish Chapel on Saturday, July 25, 2009. Burial will follow at Hopewell Cemetery in Round Rock.
