Tracey Allyson Galbraith (née Hibbard) was born on November 11, 1958 to parents Vilas Gene (Pete) and Gwendolyn Angenelle (Angie) Hibbard of Lodi, Wisconsin. She grew up as little sister to Brooke, and was involved in Girl Scouts, chorus and theater through high school, competing in the Wisconsin Junior Miss Pageant. She attended the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire where she received a Bachelors of Science in speech and language pathology.
She moved to Austin, Texas in 1980 and worked for Espey, Huston & Associates, Inc. where she met her loving husband of 38 years, Gary Galbraith. Together they enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, and spending time at the beach. Together they have two children Bristol Suzanne Galbraith and Charles Jordan Galbraith. Her children were her absolute pride and joy. While she loved her children dearly, she also passionately loved all of her animals ranging from dogs to cats to pigs at any given time.
Tracey greatly enjoyed cold margaritas, collecting seashells on the beach, the Milwaukee Brewers, road trips and reading paperback novels. She was a member of the Dripping Springs Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She could usually be found wearing a visor, something olive green or a Chuys t shirt. As she got older she cultivated a deep love of being in her backyard enjoying the patio, pool, and garden. After a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s dementia, Tracey passed peacefully on May 26, 2025, surrounded by those she held dear. She is survived by her husband Gary Galbraith, son Jordan Galbraith and partner Savannah Cocke, daughter Bristol Galbraith and fiancée Kevin Forsch, mother Angie Hibbard, sister and brother in law Brooke and Keith Doubleday, sisters in law Cathy Galbraith and Pam Cerda, brother and sister in law Charles and Julie Galbraith, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tracey was many things to many people. Her absence will be always felt and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and her two vizslas Ember and Szophia.
A celebration of Tracey’s life will take place on June 21, 2025, at Beerburg from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. Come raise a glass in Tracey’s honor and share your stories and fond memories of her. Dress is casual. Beerburg is located at 13476 Fitzhugh Road, Austin, TX, 78736.
