Travis, born on October 4th 1947, grew up in Friona, Texas and studied Agricultural Business at Texas Tech. He then went on to farm implement sales and co-ownership of Hurst Implement Company in Parmer County.
In the mid 1980’s, Travis moved his family to Lubbock, Texas and became a Financial Advisor for IDS American Express. After 20 years with the firm, he retired from Financial planning as a District Manager. Later, he returned to work at Sodexo where he managed custodial operations for multiple public schools in the Lubbock area. Travis retired in 2009, moving to Smithville in Central Texas where he enjoyed raising horses, cattle, and growing hay.
In June of 1974, Travis married Ann Hurst, also of Friona, and went on to have 2 daughters, Sunni Graham and Abigail Graves, both of Austin. Travis also had a son, Jason Graves, of Sulphur Springs, TX.
Travis lived a full life, often enjoying fishing and snow skiing, watching Westerns and Texas Tech sports, indulging in sweet treats, taking trips to the mountains, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife Ann Hurst Graves; three children Jason Graves, Sunni Graham and her husband Preston, and Abbi Graves and her partner Mark Edwards; brother, Mark Graves and his wife Susan; grandchildren Genevieve and Thatcher Graham; beloved Border Collie, Haddie; and seven horses who brought him great joy.
