Longtime Austin resident, Vadis Dale Park Baggett, passed away peacefully on October 7th, 2014. Vadis was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Durward A. Baggett; her parents Laura Lee Young Park and Jesse James Ketchersid Park, her brothers Curtis and Leslie Park, and sister Delma Dell Dennison.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Ann Baggett-Kraemer and husband Ken; son, Durward David Baggett and wife Heather; Grand Children, Dr. Elizabeth Ann Swanson and husband Brett; Mary Kristine Poland and husband Richard; Holly Louise Baggett and Jennifer Lynn Baggett; Great Grand Children Cole Swanson, Lillian Poland, Charlie Swanson, and Sawyer Poland.
Following D. A.'s internship at Brackenridge Hospital in 1960 and opening his private medical practice in 1961, the family made Austin, Texas their home. The last year of her life Vadis was lovingly cared for by the staff of Laurel Hall at Wesleyan Estrella in Georgetown.
A memorial service will be held at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home on North Lamar, Austin, Texas, Friday, October 10, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will precede the service at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at 11:00 a.m., Vadis will be laid to rest in East Texas where she grew up and married her childhood sweetheart, D. A.
The family would like to thank Wesleyan Estrella and Wesleyan Scenic for caring for Vadis when the family could not meet her needs.
