Verl Elrae Matteson

He is proceeded in death by his parents and three older siblings. He joined his loved ones on May 30, 2024.

He is survived by his son Mark Matteson, wife Karen of Spring Branch, Tx, Marks daughter Nicole Brummett and great grandson Gavin. His son Scott Matteson and wife Cyndie of Horseshoe Bay, TX. His daughter Shannon Miller of San Antonio and granddaughter Kelsey Miller Rivers and husband Trevor, grandson Carson Miller and wife Brittany and great grandson Sutton Miller. Also several nieces and nephews.

Verl’s family moved to Cody, Wyoming and lived there through High School. The whole family migrated to

Southern California with all the family members living close by in the San Fernando Valley. He married at age 21 and was always seeking to better himself at every opportunity. He was a visionary and entrepreneur. He established a partnership with a close friend which took him to several exciting places; Las Vegas, Hawaii and Orlando FL where the family resided for many years. After a divorce he continued a career in Real Estate and found many opportunities for furthering his dreams.

He moved to Texas to be closer to his kids and their families. His passion for making all of nature beautiful was a daily occurrence of energy and tenacity which caused some injuries but he always bounced back until his last fatal fall. He loved his family and his furry companion Cody and he enjoyed the fruits of his labors. He had boundless energy and took delight in traveling when he was able.

Verl was unique and “one of a kind”. He will be sorely missed!
