Vicki Chapman passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025. Anyone who knew her knew she lived her life in the service of others. Her legacy will be felt for generations to come through her children and grandchildren, friends, and the thousands of children she mentored, taught, and loved as a decades-long teacher. Vicki and her family would like to express their deep gratitude to Dr. Demetrius Loukas of Texas Oncology and Laura Calais of Austin Heart for their tireless effort, commitment, kindness, and care during her past years’ health struggles.
She is preceded in death by parents, Edith and J.W. “Jake” Cutbirth; brother, Stephan Cutbirth; and daughter Christen Chapman. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Bruce Scott Chapman; son Matt Chapman and wife Amy; grandson Jake Chapman and wife Austin; granddaughter Brooke Titter and husband Bailey; brother David Cutbirth and wife Glynis; and nephew Daniel Cutbirth. Vicki will be laid to rest in a family-only service Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Smith Family Chapel at Riverbend Church on Monday, July 21, 2025, at 10:30am. For those attending the service, Vicki wanted the celebration to be a joyous occasion, so feel free to wear bright, happy colors!
