Violet E. Alvarez, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt was called by our heavenly father on September 21, 2009 at her home. She was born in London, England on November 23, 1928. She was a military wife who traveled the world and made her final residence in Austin, Texas. Violet was a waitress for many years at the Stallion Drive-In Restaurant and then worked as a technician at one of Austin's high-tech companies, before retiring in the late 1980s to care for her son Patrick. She is preceded in death by her youngest son, Patrick Alvarez: and the father of her four children, Jesus F. Alvarez. Violet is survived by her son, Peter Alvarez: son, Paul Alvarez and wife Rebecca; daughter, Pamela Medel; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Weed-Corley-Fish, 2620 South Congress. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at St. Julia Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
