Virginia Elizabeth Geeslin, fondly known as Jenny, 78, of Austin passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 2, 1939 in Houston, Texas to Joshua Wilson McCown IV and Frances Louvenia Green McCown.
Jenny had many talents that included a beautiful singing voice that she graciously shared with others at many gatherings, church and countless funerals throughout the years. She loved to travel and was a fabulous cook.
Jenny loved her family unconditionally and with a deepness beyond words. She enjoyed any opportunity to be with her children, grandchildren and extended family. The McCown Family Reunions were one of her favorite gatherings. She could sit and visit with family and friends for hours telling stories and laughing so hard to the point of crying.
She spent many an hour sitting in bleachers at school activities cheering on her beloved children and cherished grandchildren.
Being a die-hard sports fan, she was especially fond of UT Football and Spurs Basketball.
Jenny was a devoted and generous Mother, Grandmother, Sister, and Friend. She will always be on our mind and forever be in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Frances Dupuis and Susie Niven; brothers-in-law, Joe Dupuis and Frank Niven; and nephews, Joe (Jody) Dupuis and Rusty Dupuis. Jenny will be sadly missed by her children, Julie Geeslin, Wayne Geeslin and partner Domingo Gonzales, Jamie O'Leary and husband Jim, Jim Geeslin and wife Terri, and Molly Geeslin; brother, Josh McCown V; sister-in-law, Grace McCown; grandchildren, Bryce Geeslin and wife, Allie, Kaitlyn Geeslin, Elise O'Leary, and Sarah O'Leary; great-granddaughter, Savannah Geeslin; nieces and nephews, Ross Dupuis, Chris Niven, Debby Niven, Michael Niven, Cari McCown Press, and Holly McCown Harris; numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and friends.
