
On May 20, 2004, Vivian Ann (Uriegas) Carrillo, 58, lost a courageous and hard-fought battle with both diabetes and heart disease. Her husband, Albert, was her primary caretaker during her fight. Vivian attended St Marys Academy, graduating in 1963. She worked as a Special Education teachers assistantfor over 15 years and was active in helping the children of the community throughout her life. Vivian was a Girl Scout troop leader for many years. She was a volunteer at Sanchez Elementary for the past eight years, including a position as PTA president. Her generous and feisty spirit touched many lives and her presence will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her father, Valentino M.Uriegas; mother, Bertha Nunez Uriegas; sister, Diana Uriegas Gonzalez and daughter, Maria Teresa Carrillo. She is survived by her husband, Albert Carrillo; children, Chris, Maggie, Luis and his wife, Julie, and Carmella; grandchildren, Marc-Antonie Carrillo, Danielle Zavala, Joe Sanchez, Jr., Devin Zavala, Maria Carrillo and Marty Carrillo; sisters, Bertha Rodriguez, Dolores Perez, Cathy Villegas, Tina Garcia, Debra Martin; brother, Valentino R. Uriegas; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as aunts and uncles. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the doctors and nurses who contributed to her comfort and care. Viewing hours are scheduled for 4:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 23 at Wilke-Clay-Fish. Funeral services are at St. Ignatius Church, followed by burial at Assumption Cemetery.
