Vivienne was born November 6, 1927, in London, England, as an only child to Mabel and Mervyn Platel. She was trained in ballet at an early age and went on to become an accomplished professional dancer and choreographer; touring in theaters in England and around Europe. She also travelled to the Middle East and other countries in shows with the USO. The theater was always her first love.
While working in Germany in 1959, she met and married her husband, Sigvard Dahl Jr. They were married for 23 years and had one daughter. Her husband's service in the U.S. Air Force took them many places. After leaving Germany, Vivienne and her family moved around the world to England and South Korea as well as several locations in the U.S. In 1975, they moved to Austin, Texas, where she made her permanent home.
After coming to Austin, she purchased a temporary personnel service which she co-owned and managed. Later in 1987, she obtained her license and joined the Austin Board of Realtors where she had a successful career in real estate for over 23 years.
Vivienne was very athletic and loved playing tennis. She was also very artistic and enjoyed being creative. She had a love for animals and would feed any feathered or furry creature that would show up on her back porch.
She is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Tracy Dahl-Burg and George Burg; three precious grandchildren, Jason, Taylor and Madison Latzko; her great-granddaughter, Rebel Jae Latzko; and her cousin, Diana Smart of Worcester, England.
A memorial celebration with reception to follow will be held at 11:30 am on Friday, August 31, 2018, at Mayfield Park Cottage, 3505 W. 35th Street, Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in her memory to a local animal shelter.
