Wanda June Owens

Wanda June Hemphill Owens was born to Veda Anderson Hemphill and Joe Hemphill on June 17, 1933, in Red Rock, Texas. She was married to Harold "Dale" Owens November 5, 1951, in LaGrange, Texas. After joining the Marines, Mr. Owens was deployed to Korea for 12 months in May 1952. June and Dale are the proud parents of Joanne Petty, Brenda Davis, and Sarah Kilpatrick. Upon retiring as a hairdresser, June was employed with and retired from the Office of Administration at the University of Texas at Austin. Most recently, she was a volunteer at Brentwood Christian School. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and loved ones. June is survived by her mother, Veda Hemphill; her husband of nearly 54 years, Harold "Dale" Owens; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Betty Hemphill; daughters, Joanne Petty and husband Bruce, Brenda Davis and husband Mike Pallito, and Sarah Kilpatrick; grandchildren, Robbie and Ron Ladwig, David Petty, Amanda and Clifford Fisher, Deanna and Russell Parker, Kristina and Matt Butler, Jonathan Petty, and Emily Owens; great-grandchildren, Ashlea, Alex, and Avery Ladwig, Zakarie, Benjamin, and Jeremia Petty, Jenna and Bryson Fisher, Raven Parker, and Anaya Butler. She also has many nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 1, 2004 at Brentwood Oaks Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Bateman Cemetery in Red Rock.
