

He graduated from Canisius High School, Buffalo NY in 1944. In 1946, Bill served in the U.S. Army of Occupation in Japan, receiving an honorable discharge. He received a BA in Philosophy from the Catholic University of America, 1949; an MA in French from the University of Buffalo, 1952. From 1955 to 1967, Bill taught romance languages in high school, receiving the highest praise from his students, colleagues and superiors.
In 1970, he received his Ed. D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He taught as an Assistant Professor of Foreign Languages at the University of Texas, until 1973. For 20 years Bill worked for the United States Postal Service.
In 1971, he married the love of his life, Barbara, at Bethany Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; 5 children; 9 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 sister; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, January 19, 2015 at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks Funeral Home with a Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 P.M.
A Mass of Celebration will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at St Ignatius Martyr Catholic Church, 126 West Oltorf St., Father Bill Wack, Celebrant.
