

William “Jack” Ray, 62, of Liberty Hill, died Saturday, May 22, 2021, in a Dallas hospital, with both his sisters at his side. Jack was born in Burnet, Tx. on August 10, 1958 to Bill and Nancy (Warner) Ray. He graduated from Leander High School in 1976.
Jack began working for his dad at grocery stores in Austin, TX. at an early age. He was able to purchase a new car for himself before he had a drivers license. Jack went on to work for Austin area HEB’s, going on to corporate HEB, staying with HEB for over 25 years. Jack worked at Dell and URS before moving into the medical field. He worked for Dr. Kevin Stephens for over 10 years, then moved on to Texas Orthopedics. Jack loved greeting each patient, helping people, making friends and giving his wonderful, genuinely caring hugs.
Away from work, Jack enjoyed buying and selling antiques and collectibles. One of Jack’s greatest passions was designing jewelry for his family and friends. He had a wonderful way of being able to match a person up to the perfect outfit, shoes, necklace or ring. He also loved to travel and had visited many countries around the world. England and Italy were among his favorites.
Jack is survived by his parents, Bill and Nancy (Warner) Ray, of Burnet, TX. His sisters, Beth (Ray) Mayberry of Burnet, TX. and Debbie (Ray) Peschel, her husband, Michael, their sons, Craig and Benjamin of Taylor, TX, their daughter, Janet Pine and husband, Kris Pine and their children, Cassie, Aurora, Cashen, Addie, Ellie and Andrew of West Salem, WI. He is also survived by his best friend, Christopher Jackson of Austin, TX and numerous other loving friends and family members.
Jack has requested two services, one for his Austin Area friends and one for his family in Lake Victor, at his Mother’s family church. Everyone is welcome to attend either or both services. We know Jack loved each and every one of you so much!
Visitation will be held for William “Jack” Ray on Friday, June 11th from 1pm-2pm at Cook Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home located at 9700 Anderson Mill Road, Austin, TX 78750. A Funeral Service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 2pm and will be officiated by Reverend Dave Henley.
A second visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12th from 10am-11am at Lake Victor Church of Christ, Lake Victor, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 11am and will be officiated by Mr. William Mulhollan. Burial will follow the service at Warner Family Cemetery, Lake Victor, Texas.
