William F. Searight

William F. “Bill” Searight William F. “Bill” Searight, died on December 9, 2007. He was born in Dripping Springs, Texas, on June 11, 1924, to Gib and Irma Searight. William went through Austin public schools and graduated from high school in 1941. He attended Texas A&M before joining the Army Air Corps where he won his pilot’s wings in April 1944. He was sent to Italy with the 15th Air Force and served there, flying B52 Bombers, until Germany surrendered. Willliam graduated from St. Mary’s College in San Antonio, Texas in 1949. He married Patricia Stephenson on May 19, 1951. They moved to Amarillo in 1956. William retired from the Air Force Reserve in 1968 as a Lt. Col. He later retired from SPS (Xcel) in 1986. William is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Sally and husband Tim Rieger, their sons Brad and Eric Reiger and his wife Marie; Pat and wife Susan Searight, their children, Whitney and Rusty Cox, and Kyle Searight; Gib and wife Kelly Searight and son Tanner Searight. Bill’s great- grandchildren are Gage and Mack Rieger, and Paxton and Mackey Cox. Memorial services will be held at Polk Street Methodist Church, Friday, December 14, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Eric and Brad Rieger, Tanner and Kyle Searight, Stan, Greg and Mark Fisher, and Fred Elsner.
