William Whitley, Jr.

Sunrise December 7, 1944 and Sunset December 28, 2025, he was born to Willie and Alice Whitley.

William is survived by his wife Leatha M. Whitley, daughters; Rita D. Arnold (Eddie), Lisa D. Whitley, and bonus daughter, Tonya Wilson, sons; Willie L. Whitley, Gregory B. Whitley, and Paul L. Whitley, 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Alice Whitley, his sisters, Hattie Whitley, Florence Bailey, Josephine Johnson, and Ruby Thomas.

A visitation will be held at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, located at 6100 North Lamar, Austin, Texas, on January 8, 2026, at 4:00 pm.

Celebration of life for William “Doug” Whitley, Jr. will be held Friday January 9th, 2026 at 11AM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, Texas.

A graveside service will be conducted at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 TX-195, Killeen, Texas, on January 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm.

Serving as Pallbearers are Kenneth Peterson, Chris Davis, Cameron Davis, Paul Crayton, Corinthian Harris, and Terrence McKeithan; honorary pallbearers: Hollis Parker, Ronald Parker, Derrick Parker, Eddie Arnold, Jr., Paul Whitley, Gregory Whitley, and Reginald Dyer II.
