Born Willie La Rue Morgan on June 23, 1928 in Loraine, Texas, to Albert "Cecil" Morgan and Era Compton, Willie eventually met and married her future husband, Robert Nash Shane. They married in Crystal City on June 28, 1953 and then lived in Dallas, San Antonio, Corpus Christi and San Angelo before settling in Austin in 1966. Willie retired from her job with the state of Texas and her and Robert enjoyed traveling together and were active members of the University Presbyterian Church.
Willie was preceded in death by her husband Robert, sisters Helen and Betty, and brother Ben. She is survived by her sister Dorothy, numerous nieces and nephews, and other family and friends that were dear to her.
The family would like to thank the staff of Elmcroft of Austin and the staff at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home for all the help they have provided.
A graveside memorial will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 27 at Austin Memorial Park
