Wilma Lavergne Sanders

Wilma Lavergne Sanders, a cherished resident of Round Rock, Texas, passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 95. Born on December 9, 1929, Lavergne lived a full and vibrant life.

Lavergne was born to Jewel Roberts and Arwed Roberts in Bastrop County. She graduated from Austin High School and lived in Austin for 91 years before moving to Round Rock, Texas. She dedicated her career to the University of Texas at Austin, where she served as a procurement officer for several departments until her retirement.

Lavergne had a deep love for salt water FISHING in the Laguna Madre and pursued her interest in genealogy with great enthusiasm. She also enjoyed sewing, which brought her much joy and relaxation.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Lee Sanders, and her son, Delbert Lee Sanders, Jr. Lavergne is survived by her loving daughter, Sandra Lee Carpenter, and son-in-law, John Carpenter; her sister, Arthelia Stricklin; her granddaughter, Erin Garcia, and her husband, Marco Garcia; along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Lucas Garcia and Lyanna Garcia.

A Graveside service will be held at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery, located at 2800 Hancock Dr, Austin, TX 78731, on January 21, 2026, at 12:00 pm.
