Wendy accepted Christ at an early age at St. Stephen’s Missionary Baptist Church. The family united with True Light Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. J. R. Williams. There she sang in the choir and attended Sunday School. She remained a faithful member until her health failed.
After graduating from L.B.J High School, she attended Huston-Tillotson College. Wendy was employed for a number of years with Austin Independent School District.
Wendy was a very loving, caring, and dedicated daughter, sister, and friend. She was a wonderful mother of two children, Dierra and Darrion Liggins. She always enjoyed spoiling and babysitting all of her nieces and nephews, along with her own children. We will truly miss all of our adorable and fun times with Wendy.
She was always kind and friendly to everyone she met.
“Thank you God for her life with us.”
Wendy was preceded in death by her father, James Ross Benford.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her loving mother, Lula Bullock of Austin, Texas; daughter, Dierra Liggins of Houston, Texas; son, Darrion Liggins of San Marcos, Texas; brother, Clifton Brown (Mary) of Dahlonega, Georgia; sisters, Cherry Brown, Rochelle Brown, and Sandra Brown, all of Austin, Texas; godsister, Micheline Houston of Austin, Texas; uncles, Richard Johnson of Killeen, Texas, and Shelly B.
