I just heard (April 6) from Gary Longchamps that Ed had died suddenly last month while attending Mass, a perfect way to die.  Everyone lucky enough to have known him will always cherish memories of his wit, humour and true goodness.  My deepest sympathies go out to Amy and the entire family at this sad time.

Dear Amy, Erin, Susie, Ed and Paula,

My heart goes out to you in this very sad time.  We are never prepared for the death of a loved one, and it is a painful process to have to go through.  My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I will always remember Ed's (or Mr. Dignan, as I referred to him as a child) jovial chuckle.  He was such a friendly man, and someone who kept a positive outlook on life no matter what.  I have fond memories of coming over to your house at Fablewood, going out on the catamaran, and spending time with your family.  
Ed and my father Joe had a longstanding friendship, and I know that my dad has been very saddened by his passing.  

I love the photograph that you chose to put in the Guestbook.  His smile is exactly the one that I remember, and is the one that will come to mind when I think of him.

Dear Amy and the Dignan Family,
Please accept my deepest and heartfelt condolences to each and everyone of you on the loss of your wonderful family member. He was  a wonderful, sweet and deeply loved man who worshiped his devoted wife, Amy, and deeply adored his daughters, son and grandchildren.  His many many friends thought the world of him. He had a marvelous Irish sense of humour and could always be counted on to regale everyone with his repetoire of Irish jokes. He always had a twinkle in his eyes! He treasured his family beyond measure and he loved and enjoyed each moment of  Life- all as a wonderous Gift from God. He always felt so Blessed in Life and everyone who met and knew him were Blessed. To Amy and family, be assured that his Spirit is and will always be with you!
