Shaun Potvin

Shaun was the beloved son of Ernest Potvin and the late Sandra Hepburn. He leaves behind his girlfriend, Natasha Pittaway, his brother Matthew (Karen Umrysh), his niece Haley, and nephews Jonah and Jasper. He will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Shaun had a sharp mind and a natural talent that showed itself in many ways throughout his life. In his younger years, he was an avid hockey player; when the mood struck, a poet and musician; and later, he stirred up his culinary skills as a sous-chef at the Royal Ottawa Golf Club.

A loyal sports fan, Shaun followed the Ottawa Senators, Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Vikings with dedication—and plenty of commentary. He was just as passionate about music, with tastes spanning a wide range of genres. Shaun knew how to have a good time and especially enjoyed family gatherings, where his presence, vast knowledge and unfiltered wit ensured that no moment was ever dull.

Gone, but still calling the shots — rest easy, Lebowski.

Family will receive condolences beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church, 160 rue Principale, Gatineau (Aylmer), on Thursday, February 19, 2026. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall, after which all are invited to continue the celebration of life at the British Hotel.
