Bart Ricioppo, age 91, of West Babylon, New York passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. Bart was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 13, 1929 to Nancy (Raddi) and Petro Ricioppo. Bart served in the U. S. Army as a Corporal in the Medical Service branch of the U.S. Armed Forces from 1951 to 1953. He received the Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and United Nations Service Medal. During his service, he took leave to come home and marry Madeline Provenzano. After he returned home from Korea Bart and Madeline lived in Inwood, Philadelphia and then bought a house in Levittown, NY. Bart retired from the Town of Hempstead as a machine equipment operator in 1985 and enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. Bart and Madeline retired to West Palm Beach until 2004 when they moved to West Babylon, NY. Bart was caring supportive husband, father and grandfather. Bart had many hobbies and activities over the years including reading, leathercraft, painting, darts, billiards, golf and playing computer games. Bart loved his Madeline and would do anything she asked of him whether it be to go food shopping or get her a piece of paper. Bart was the Uncle that could talk like Donald Duck and would tease Madeline any chance he had. He wasn’t a man of many words and kept his emotions to himself. He was a MacGyver of sorts when it came to fixing things, he always found a workaround.
Bart is survived by his daughters Nancy Ricioppo (Billy Oliver), Marie Rizzi (Michael), granddaughter Gianna Rizzi, many in-laws, nieces and nephews
Bart is preceded in death by his wife Madeline, his sister Maria DeRitis and brother Benardo Ricioppo.
