Carol Locrotondo

Carol Locrotondo passed away on November 11, 2023, after bravely battling acute myeloid leukemia. She shared an extraordinary 59-year marriage and 64 inseparable years with her beloved husband, Salvatore Locrotondo. Carol is survived by her adoring children, Paula Locrotondo, Brenda Kelly, and Philip Locrotondo, as well as her cherished grandchildren, Olivia Locrotondo, Kaitlyn Kelly, Julianna Locrotondo, and William Kelly. She also leaves behind her beloved sons-in-law, Bill Kelly and Pat Mulligan.

Carol was born in Queens, grew up in Lindenhurst, and graduated from Lindenhurst High School.

Carol and Salvatore, affectionately known as Sal, established their lives in West Babylon, embodying contentment in life's simple pleasures. While they embraced a practical and simple lifestyle, Carol's generosity knew no bounds. In this spirit, Carol and Sal became esteemed line dance instructors, fostering a vibrant community through Country Hearts gatherings. Their shared passion for dance epitomized their unwavering bond, which was also evident in their charming habit of ordering the same dish when dining out, ensuring neither missed out on a delightful meal.

A dedicated mother and meticulous professional, Carol built a successful career as an accountant starting at Narraganset Inn. Her commitment to the community extended beyond her career, and over the years, Carol volunteered with the West Babylon Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and The Ancient Order of Hibernians and served as a devoted Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Grace. She took pride in helping others with her financial knowledge.

Carol’s infectious laughter, quick wit, and playful knack for always being right endeared her to her lifelong friends and were qualities deeply appreciated by her family. She embodied vitality, walking daily, continuing to dance long after the Country Hearts era, and relishing journeys abroad. Carol will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A visitation for Carol will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A visitation will occur on Thursday, November 16, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A funeral mass will occur Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, 700 Albin Ave, West Babylon, New York 11704. An interment will occur Friday, November 17, 2023, at 12:30 PM at St Charles Cemetery, 2010 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, New York 11735.
