Constance “Connie” Anzalone passed away peacefully at home in Bay Shore, New York on July 10, 2023, at the age of 87. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carmine and her 11 children: Frank, Marty (Cheryl), Christopher (Weilai), Joseph (Sue), Theresa, Greg (Yvonne), Jo Ann (Bill), Michael, Carmine (Karen), Susan (Bob) and Stephen, as well as her 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers John, Buddy and Anthony (Kathy) and sisters Camille, Theresa, MaryAnn, and previously departed, Dorothy and Sally Ann. Connie was also deeply loved and adored by her many nieces and nephews. Connie was born in Brooklyn, New York but lived most of her life in Northport, New York, where she raised her family and launched several businesses, including Connie’s Tee Shirt Shop on Larkfield Road in East Northport. Connie was fiercely loyal to her family. First by celebrating her sisters with yearly trips and sleepovers and then by finding joy with visits to her children and grandchildren, especially those who lived in Hawaii. She expressed her creativity through home improvement projects and her love of crafts, like painting, knitting and ceramics. Her lifelong love, however, was playing the organ and piano, having taught herself at an early age and mastering the ability to play any song by ear. Later in life, she even took up tap dancing. Connie’s home was open to everyone, where she would share a meal, a good bottle of red wine and love you unconditionally. Through the years, she hosted numerous family holiday gatherings, threw countless Super Bowl parties and organized many other fun-filled gatherings. She loved to travel with her husband and dear friends, Jo and Ray DeRise. And, over five decades, the four of them traveled the world far and wide, always coming home with tales of their epic adventures together. Connie’s spirit could fill a room with warmth and laughter but her sarcastic wit and humor was her trademark. Her legacy is far reaching as she left an indelible mark on all whom she met with her smile, kindness and generosity. She lived a simple life in the most grand way. The family would like to express their deep gratitude to Connie’s caregivers, Theresa and Perla, as well as Good Shepherd Hospice, for their loving support and care. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Good Shepherd Hospice at www.chsli.org. Family and friends may visit at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, Sunday, from 2-4:30 and 7-9:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Patrick’s R.C. Church, Bay Shore on Monday, 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Charles Cemetery.
