

He died from internal injuries suffered as a result of a fall in his home.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on January 7, 1942. The son of Kuno and Marie Reiter, Ed graduated from Smithtown Central High School and was an Air Force veteran. He was active in American Legion Babylon NY Post having served as Post Commander from 1989 to 1990 and was Suffolk County Adjutant and Historian in 1994. Ed was married to Marilyn Reiter, who was also active in the legion post’s Ladies Auxillary before her death. Ed will be remembered for his duty to his country, his good nature and sense of humor. He was also a past squadron commander for the Civil Air Patrol. He enjoyed movies, especially James Bond, science fiction and his computer. He also loved his nephew Yuriy Reiter and his little schnauzer, Misty.
He is survived by his brother Steven of Biddeford, Maine, Steven’s wife Nancy and nephew Yuriy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Good Samaritan Hospital and Ed’s neighbors for their caring, and support.
Visiting hours will be 7 – 9 on Friday, June 9 at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home in Babylon 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY, 11702.
Burial will be on Saturday at North Babylon Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
