Edwish M. Adrien, daughter of Paula Mazile-Adrien and Lessene Adrien, was born on July 25, 1971, in Cayes, Haiti. Edwish had six siblings, Mirlande Adrien, Madoche Adrien, Claudine Adrien, Guirlene Adrien-Kamara, Nadege Adrien-Moreau and Hayley Adrien.
Edwish was a vibrant, loving and determined young woman. She spent her childhood in Haiti and migrated to the United States in 1985. Furthermore, she was also a devoted daughter, sister, cousin, Godmother and a great friend to all. She loved everyone and was loved by many. She accepted and respected everyone the way they were. She had a profound relationship with God and was a kindhearted person.
Edwish attended Lawrence Road Junior High School followed by Uniondale High School. She held a degree of Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stony Brook University. After graduation from Stony Brook, she quickly realized the medical field was the career path she needed and wanted to take. She applied at St. Francis Hospital and obtained a position as a PCA. She worked part time while attending Suny Downstate University and graduated with a Degree in Physician Assistant.
Edwish was a workaholic. She was employed by Bon Secours Community Hospital for several years in Port Jervis. However, she left Port Jervis to be closer to her family and landed a position at Mercy Medical Hospital Northwell Health and Modern MD.
Cornerstone Church was the church she adapted and it became her home parish until the day she passed away. Edwish was a true Christian in every way that truly matters, “she talked the talk, walked the walk”. She did that by visiting the sick, the imprisoned and monitoring donations to many organizations, too many to mention.
Additionally, Edwish had a quiet and humble presence but she was a fierce lover of God, her mother, brother, sisters, family, friends and the congregation. She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in October of 2015. She lived with the disease and fought a courageous and great fight. Complications from Ovarian Cancer ultimately claimed her life peacefully. Her positive outlook towards life and her unshakable spirit in the midst of the arduous fight has forever marked her family and friends.
Edwish was preceded in death by her father Lessene Adrien. She is survived by her mother Paula Mazile Adrien, her siblings Mirlande Adrien, Madoche Adrien, Claudine Adrien, Guirlene Adrien Kamara, Nadege Adrien Moreau, Hayley Adrien. Her nieces Malayika Moreau (Goddaughter), Fabiola Adrien, Amie Kamara, her nephews Cedric Adrien, Noah Moreau, her many aunts, uncles, cousins, Godchildren and a long list of Friends of Family.
Edwish will be laid to rest at the Pinelawn Memorial Park in Pinelawn, New York on Saturday, February 13th 2021.
