

Frank Joseph Kropf, a loving father, uncle, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 6th, 2025. He was 82 years old. Born on October 25th, 1942, Frank was a proud Vietnam War veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. He carried the values of duty, loyalty, and service with him throughout his life. Frank's career included being a project manager and a tax preparer, roles in which he was known for his dedication and attention to detail. He was often known to say "perseverance and diligence shall overcome" and lived by that motto never giving up the fight.
Frank's personal life was marked by his 39-year marriage to his beloved wife, Barbara, who passed away in 2003. Together, they raised two daughters, Kim and Dawn. Frank’s love for his family never wavered. He helped build an extended family becoming a favorite uncle and he took great pride in being a grandfather to Courtney and Jake, who were the lights of his life. Frank had a wide range of interests that reflected his curious and adventurous spirit.
Frank was a proud member of Gottscheer Hall Bowling Club, where he enjoyed both the competition and the friendships he made over the years. He was an avid collector of coins, stamps, toys, and collectibles, finding joy in the history and stories each piece told. He was also a passionate poker player, relishing both the strategy and camaraderie of the game. In addition to his family and hobbies, Frank was deeply fond of his two dogs, Harley and Zuk, who brought him companionship and joy in his later years. He will be remembered for his kindness, dry humor, and the love he gave to those around him. Frank’s legacy lives on through his daughters, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and all who were fortunate to have met him.
A visitation for Frank Joseph will be held Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A committal will occur Friday, January 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, Wading River, NY 11792.
