George J. Schutte`

George John Schutte` of West Babylon, New York, passed away on July 9, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 11, 1952, in West Hempstead, New York, to George John Schutte` and Elsie Zeeb.

George was the beloved husband of Carolyn Maria Schutte for 44 years. He was a loving father to Erica, Jason (Lydia Marie), George (Betsy), and Katherine (Garrett). George cherished his role as "Grandpa" to George, Devin, Kadence, JJ, and Savannah.

George was a devoted brother to Gregory and Gerard. He had a fulfilling career working for the Department of Defense. George had a special place in his heart for his pets, Brandi, Cookie, Bella, Scooby, and Duke.

George lived life to the fullest, pursuing his passions with enthusiasm. He was an avid hunter, history enthusiast, and enjoyed BBQ gatherings with family and friends. George had a fondness for pumpkin beer, participated in skirmishing with the North South Skirmish Association (N-SSA), and was a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees.

A proud veteran, George served his country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War. He was also an Eagle Scout, embodying the values of loyalty, bravery, and service throughout his life. George took great pride in his yard, creating a haven of beauty and serenity for his family.

Above all, George will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and dedication to his family and community.

A visitation for George will be held Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM at Claude R. Boyd/Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A visitation will occur Sunday, July 14, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, 448 West Main Street, Babylon, NY 11702. A burial will occur Monday, July 15, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, Wading River, NY 11792.
