I remember the day that I found out that this beautiful soul was no longer with us. I was in disbelief. Unfortunately I moved to another state and was unable to keep contact nor attend the service. Ms. Joseph was an amazing teacher, person, and friend! When she found out I’m Haitian we immediately connected. She always believed in me and was one of my biggest supporters! She always pushed me to do better, even if I scored a 98 on a test, she would say “ 98 is good but you could have got 100, next time make it 100”.  I remember when she used to talk about if she were to have a son she would name him Maximilian then she said wait a minute I’m not sure if I want my son named after somebody like that but the name is beautiful. Lol I wonder if she did name her son Maximillian. Her memory will forever stay with me and I am certain of that because from time to time she randomly crosses my mind. My prayers , love and my deepest condolences to the family.

Mrs. Joseph -Jaeger was my Global History l teacher in ninth grade, the years of 2017-2018. Being in her class was never dull, every moment was full of excitement to learn about history in different areas. Before every class started, she would greet each student in front of her classroom with a welcoming and beautiful smile. She was caring and uplifting to all of her students. I admired her adventurous spirit and her sense of fashion. The first memory I have of Mrs. Joseph -Jaeger was the first day of ninth grade when she was standing in front of her classroom greeting us and handing us papers to our pop quiz that was on her. I filled out the paper from a desk in the back of her classroom. When we were done, she went over the answers. One of the questions was where is she from. I was astonished to hear that she is from Haiti, me being Haitian-American myself. The last memory I have of Mrs. Joseph -Jaeger was at the north side of the school downstairs in the hallway, in twelfth grade. We talked, and she showed me pictures of baby Roman. She will be missed and remembered. 

Guerline will always hold a special place in our hearts. I will continue to cherish the love and kindness she has shown my family and I over the years. Please accept our sincerest condolences. 


I have known you for over 25 years.  Even though we would go spans of time without seeing each other every time we got together it was as though not a moment had passed. You are such a beautiful person and I thank God that he gave me the chance to even know you. Even though your life was cut short every dream that you had for your life you saw come true.  
I will continue to pray for strength and peace for your family. 
Until we meet again in heavenly places my friend. 

Guerline was a shining light who will always hold a special place in my heart. As her Associate Pastor I had the privilege, honor and blessing of praying with her for the desires of her heart! She prayed for a husband God blessed her with John; she prayed for a healthy child God blessed her with Roman; she prayed for stronger faith God blessed her with peace, fortitude and courage . 
Our sister walked by faith and not by sight with a persistent smile, shining her light and laughter with her family, treasured friends and loved ones. 
Rest in Power my beloved sister. 
You will always be remembered as we continue living and caring for John and Roman.

This whole community -- students, staff, everyone, is feeling this loss. There are no words to do it justice. I remember when, in the early days of covid and the school closing, we set up a zoom playdate with Roman and my daughter. Roman gave a wonderful tour of his aquarium. I also remember when, last winter in the middle of the school day, the heater in my house went out, and without a second thought you guys offered to have my whole family come to stay at your house. You guys are such a beautiful and generous family!  Guerline touched so many lives as a teacher, a colleague and a friend.  She will live on in our memories.

I am grateful for your friendship and support.  I will miss you. 

I’m so lucky to have had a friend like Guerline! She will be missed and i will cherish all of the great memories i have ♥️

We have been in touch on social media but haven’t  seen or  spoken in a few years with busy lives. You were the most sweetest , kindest person . Always happy and positive. My 2 daughters remember the Ornament party and we’re so happy to give u the “swan” ornament because they loved the pool swan.  You truly are a special person and touched people lives by being beautiful a beautiful soul inside and out. You will truly be missed . Rest peacefully .

Ms. Joseph was the first teacher I met during my High School career…
First Period, first day of school, freshman year at North Babylon High School... I walked into Ms. Joseph’s Global History I class and was nervous for many reasons: New school, new year, new age, new responsibilities, etc. On top of all of that, history was never my worst subject, but it was also not my best. Luckily for me, Ms. Joseph had a way of teaching history that made it interesting, fun, and engaging by relating it to movies, music, and current events which really helped me to understand the information better than I ever had before. I realized quickly that by being in her class I was in good hands. Having her first period also meant that I had her for Homeroom which made me happy because I got to stay in her classroom for even longer with her beautiful smiling face, and fun-loving personality.
Sophomore year, I was lucky enough to be in her class again for Global History II for another year of fun, and educational memories that I still think of to this day… One sad memory from that year that I’ll never forget was when the 2010 earthquake happened in Haiti… I remember seeing her emotional about it one day after class… It made me sad to see her upset because she was usually the type of person whose smile could light up a room… But because Ms. Joseph was great at what she did, and loved every minute of it, she continued teaching with the same amount of passion that she was always known for. Seeing how strong she was during that difficult time was and still is such an inspiration to me; and I truly believe that she was one of the reasons why I wanted to become a teacher in the first place. I want to be able to bring as much joy into the lives of students as she brought into mine during those formative years of my life. Once I have done that, I will know that I have done my job well…

I am grateful to have had a friend as amazing as you. You were the kindest, most beautiful person, inside and out. You brought such joy and love to the world. I will cherish all of the wonderful memories we shared. You will be missed. Rest in Peace ❤️

We will truly miss you Guerline. The neighborhood would not be the same without you! You were just a sweetheart. But we know you are now in a peaceful place with the lord,  where you will watch over your love ones. 

My beautiful friend, you were taken from us way too soon.  We met nearly 18 years ago when we started our teaching careers together and we've been friends ever since.  You were always a positive light in this world and I will miss you so much.  My heart is breaking knowing that I won't ever talk to you or see your beautiful smile again.  I know you are at peace with God and you are no longer suffering.  I pray for John, Roman, and all of the many people that are so devastated by this unimaginable loss.  You will forever be in our hearts.

Ms.Joseph, you were one of my absolute favorite teachers I have ever had! Such a kind, fun, smart, stylish and loving soul. You brought so much joy to your classroom every single day. You will be missed by so many and I am so grateful I had the pleasure of knowing you. Rest In Peace ❤️

Mrs.Joseph was one of the best teachers at north babylon highschool. There was never a dull moment in her class and she always made sure you was on your A game in her class. I’m gonna miss her ❤️

She was an amazing and wonderful teacher. Always so sweet and caring. I loved being in her class in 9th grade. She will be missed dearly.
