She was the beloved wife of the late John Krieg. Irene was a loving and devoted mother to Janet Weber (David), Diane Grassa (Thomas), Nancy Kaiser (Martin), and Jim Krieg. She was predeceased by her children Ellen Secor (the late James) and John Krieg (Susan). Irene also held a special place in her heart for her niece, Kathy O’Keefe, whom she cherished as a daughter. She was the proud and cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and great-grandmother of 12, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride.
Irene’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. A dedicated member of the Catholic Church, she served as a Eucharistic Minister and led the Homebound group, ensuring that those unable to attend Mass remained connected to their faith. She also devoted her time as a religious education teacher, sharing her deep belief and guiding others in their spiritual journeys.
Known for her generous spirit, Irene found great happiness in giving—especially when it came to her family, whom she loved to spoil with thoughtful gifts. She treasured time spent with loved ones and could often be found relaxing in her blue chair, keeping up with the news she enjoyed so much.
Irene will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her boundless love for family, and her kind and giving heart. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion, compassion, and cherished memories that will live on in all who knew her.
