

James A. Gillin, 69, of Port Orange, Florida on February 27, 2012. Son of the late Elizabeth D. and James A. Gillin. Brother of Lois Marie McDonald and the late John Gillin. Mr. Gillin is also survived by Melissa and Randy Baker, Ian Baker and Laura Baker and Jason McDonald. He graduated from Landsdowne-Aldan High School in Pennsylvania. James worked at the Insurance Company of North America for seven years before moving to Long Island, New York in 1967. Mr. Gillin had a 25 year career with the Long Island Railroad. In 1992, Mr. Gillin retired and moved to Port Orange, Florida. He enjoyed a life-long interest in trains and trolleys. Visitation hours took place on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:30 pm, at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Homes, 448 West Main Street, Babylon Village, Long Island, New York 11702. A Religious Service took place Tuesday evening, 8:00 pm, at the Funeral Home. Family and friends gathered at the funeral home on Wednesday morning, March 7, 2012, 9:30 am, for Mr. Gillin's funeral. Prayers were said at 10:00 am before his funeral procession left the funeral home for Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, New York where his Graveside Service took place. A Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date at Mr. Gillin's home church, Westminster by the Sea Presbyterian Church, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida.
