

John Ubinas, 94, of West Islip, entered into Eternal Life on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. Beloved husband of 72 years of Esther (Jimenez) Ubinas. Devoted father of Judith Baines, John Ubinas, Jr., and his wife, Eileen, Miriam Hallett and her husband, Kevin, Rose Ubinas, Joan Flannery, Dawn Gleason and her husband, Daniel, Jenny Ubinas, and the late Lori-Ann Ubinas. Adored grandfather of Ashley, Kendra, Johnny, Lawrence, Michael, Carol, Amanda, Fernando, Billy, Kelsey, Patric, Aidan, and the late Sarah. Dear brother of Anna, Joseph, and the late Mary, Rubin, James, Anthony, and Peter. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren. John was a retired veteran of the United States Army National Guard, which he proudly served for 41 years of his life. He was an armory machinist before his retirement, and enjoyed taking photographs, collecting watches and clocks, and smoking his tobacco pipes in his leisure time, in addition to taking care of his chickens and the host of family pets he had over the years: Frenchie, Melody, Keisha, T.J. Pooch, Curly, and Ming Li. John was known for his sense of humor and infectious laughter, as well as his unwavering kindness. A man devoted to his family, he will be forever loved and deeply missed by each life that he touched. Family will receive friends at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home, 448 W.
