Mario Picarazzi

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mario Picarazzi, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Mario was born in Italy to Angelo Picarazzi and Luisa Mastrantonio, and raised with love and care alongside his sister, Anna Capogna, and his late sister, Yolanda Picarazzi.

Mario is survived by his devoted wife, Anna, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and memories. He was the proud father of Vincenzo Picarazzi and his wife, Margherita Sordilli; Enedina Picarazzi and her husband, Domenico Berardi; Angelo Picarazzi and his wife, Katy Picarazzi; and stepfather to Mario Patrizi and Josephine Giacalone and her husband, Joseph Giacalone. Mario was a cherished grandfather to Antonella, Daniele, Damiano, Antonio, Maurizio, Sofia, Vincent, Charlie, and Angelina, and a proud great-grandfather to Alessandro, Arianna, Perla, Matteo, Annachiara, Andrea, and Tomasso. He was also a loving uncle to six nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

Mario’s passion for craftsmanship and family was evident throughout his life. He had a special love for building things, especially wooden crosses, which he generously gifted to everyone he knew. A true gardener at heart, Mario took great pride in cultivating his fig trees, persimmon tree, pear tree, and grape vines. He found immense joy in making his own homemade wine and tomato sauce, and he always looked forward to sharing these creations with loved ones. He especially treasured the cooking of his beloved wife, Anna, and the wine he made with care.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 23, from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Claude R. Boyd-Spencer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 24, at 9:45 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption RCC in Copiague, NY, followed by Entombment at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

Mario's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and tradition will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed, but his memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
